Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University was established on September 30, 1954 in Payakumbuh. The inauguration and the signing of the inscriptions made by the two national leaders from West Sumatra, namely M. Hatta and M. Yamin.

1. Implementing high-quality education in an effective and efficient in producing graduates who are competent and competitive in both national and regional level.
2. Conducting research to support the education process and help solving problems of national agriculture.
3. Applying the results of agricultural research in the framework of community service.

1. Produce graduates who are competent, of high moral standing and competitiveness in the labor market in agriculture.
2. Perform excavation and development of science and technology in agriculture on an ongoing basis to address strategic issues that developed in the community.
